We need both pragmatism and innovation for progress in hard-to-abate sectors, and few are more crucial than steel. This official side event brings together leaders from industry, government, and finance to accelerate coordinated action toward near-zero-emissions steel. It will be our pleasure to give a technical input on innovative pathways for clean steel production.
The discussion will focus on aligning sectoral strategies, enabling supportive policy frameworks, and advancing universal classification standards and certification systems. Together, participants will work to unlock investment, scale innovation, and build resilient, competitive steel ecosystems that can drive the global green industrial transition.
A high-level panel on global leadership in the steel sector’s transition will feature Sari Multala, Minister of Ympäristöministeriö – Miljöministeriet – Ministry of the Environment of Finland, and Izabella Teixeira, former Minister of Climate Change of Brazil.
