Our mission at Future Cleantech Architects is to close the remaining innovation gaps to reach net-zero emissions by 2050. We tackle the toughest problems, focusing on those hard-to-abate sectors where decarbonization faces the toughest hurdles and technologies with the potential to reduce emissions at scale. We combine science-based analysis, policy work, and hands-on engagement with research and industry to help accelerate promising solutions.
We are a science-based, independent non-profit, driven by an international team working across disciplines and locations in Europe. General Information
FCA is a climate think tank dedicated to accelerating the transition to a sustainable, net-zero future. We specialize in European climate legislation and hard-to-abate sectors like steel, cement, aviation, shipping, fertilizers, and construction materials. Our goal is to bridge the gap between research, policy, and industry action through evidence-based advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and innovative solutions.
FCA actively participates in EU consultations, expert groups, and policy dialogues. We publish research reports, provide technical expertise to policymakers, and collaborate with industry leaders to shape regulations that drive decarbonization in hard-to-abate sectors.
Our primary focus is on hard-to-abate sectors such as: steel, cement, aviation, shipping, fertilizers, and construction materials. We also work on cross-cutting issues like carbon pricing, critical chemicals, and industrial transformation.

Eligibility & Requirements
Yes, FCA welcomes applications from all nationalities. We unfortunately cannot currently sponsor visas, so a work permit in your country of residence is a prerequisite.

Technical/Logistical
Yes! We offer hybrid and fully remote work models, with a mix of in-office collaboration and remote work possible. We have offices in Brussels, Amsterdam, Cambridge, and Remscheid and try to offer co-working solutions for employees in other cities who prefer not to work from home. The exact balance depends on the role and team needs, but we prioritize flexibility to accommodate individual preferences and circumstances. Certain roles might require travel or residence in a certain city or area, so please make sure to keep your eyes open for these details in the job openings.
Depending on your role you might be required to travel to visit other FCA offices, industry sites, (inter-)national parliaments, and relevant events.
