2025 was another year of impact for Future Cleantech Architects.
Despite a challenging political environment, we helped narrow the climate innovation gap in Europe. One of FCA’s key impact highlights in 2025 was helping shift the EU debate on hydrogen away from a one-size-fits-all approach and toward realistic prioritization through our Hydrogen Guardrails work and high-level engagement with the European Parliament and European Commission.
We also helped move industrial heat decarbonization higher on the EU agenda — particularly thermal energy storage (TES), electrification, and industrial flexibility. Our work contributed to emerging discussions around industrial heat auctions, electrification strategies, and flexibility frameworks, while our case study work demonstrated how these technologies can be deployed in real-world industrial processes.
Building on the EU’s 5% target for innovative renewable energy technologies under REDIII, FCA also reviewed how national governments are implementing these commitments.
In 2025, we further advanced discussions on low-carbon cement, clean steel, structural efficiency, and industrial competitiveness.
Throughout the year, we continued to engage directly with the European Commission, Members of the European Parliament, national policymakers, innovators, and industry stakeholders to help translate climate ambition into practical industrial transformation.
We are excited about what comes next.
