Long Duration Energy Storage (LDES) innovators face challenges to scale-up and find long-term funding and support. European legislators must agree on an EU-wide LDES policy to build a strategic LDES reserve to balance renewables.
FCA co-hosted a workshop on LDES market design for innovators together with Breakthrough Energy and EASE – The European Association for Storage of Energy. Based on the results, we have compiled 10 policy recommendations to support and amplify the efforts needed on long duration energy storage for Europe’s decarbonization plan and for a carbon-neutral security of energy supply.
