Future Cleantech Radar
The Future Cleantech Radar (FCR) is a free, interactive platform designed to accelerate the journey to net zero. It enables policymakers, researchers, and industry leaders to track, compare, and prioritize breakthrough climate innovations. Independent and non-profit, Future Cleantech Architects presents an overview of the technologies with the highest potential for impact and feasibility, empowering informed decisions that drive real change.
Exploring the Future Cleantech Radar
Select any technology to explore its characteristics, recommendations, and sources. The radar highlights three key metrics:
- Technology maturity: Assessed by Technology Readiness Level (TRL), from early research to market deployment (shown by distance).
- Development pace: An estimate of how quickly a technology progresses through TRL 1–9 (shown by color).
- GHG reduction potential: The projected CO₂ equivalent avoided or removed between 2025–2050, in gigatons (shown by point size).
The Future Cleantech Radar is now in its beta phase. In this early stage, we offer detailed insights on selected technologies – specifically, electric high-temperature heat and both sensible and chemical thermal energy storage. Our methodology remains under active development. The FCR is intentionally selective, it prioritizes areas aligned with our core values and priorities. A full-screen version of the FCR is available here. We welcome your questions, feedback, and opportunities to collaborate at fcr@fcarchitects.org.
