We are looking for a candidate with 3–4 years of relevant experience and strong expertise in EU electricity market design, with the analytical skills to turn complex energy systems questions into sharp, practical policy recommendations.
In this role, you will work closely with our Director of Policy, Marlène Siméon, to anticipate, analyze, and help shape EU initiatives related to energy systems – including innovative renewables, clean firm power, grids, long duration energy storage (LDES), and thermal energy storage.
Responsibilities:
• Monitor and analyze EU electricity market design reforms and Member State implementation.
• Assess capacity mechanisms, renewable support schemes, PPAs, auctions, and state aid frameworks.
• Develop policy briefs, reports, amendments, and other advocacy materials
• Collaborate with our Cleantech Analyst team to translate technical findings into policy recommendations
• Work with the Communications team on messaging, articles, presentations, and related materials
• Participate in coalitions and projects related to energy systems policy
• Help organize events bringing together EU institutions, policymakers, innovators, and industry representatives
