Our colleagues Magnolia Tovar and René Severens teamed up with the Tien Procent Club for their first event in Eindhoven this week. Doneer Effectief’s Bram Schaper set the stage, sharing how effective giving can make a real difference in tackling climate change.
Magnolia and René presented how Future Cleantech Architects – a top recommendation from Doneer Effectief and Giving Green, among others – works strategically to accelerate climate innovation, especially in future energy systems and hard-to-abate sectors.
The key takeaways from our presentation were:
• Electricity demand is projected to triple by 2050, with the majority from variable energy sources.
• Flexibility tools such as battery and thermal energy storage, in addition to grid upgrades and demand management will be instrumental to address the challenges of high renewables penetration.
• Hydrogen does not contribute to energy security and should be prioritize in sectors where it is an indispensable industrial feedstock.
A big thank you once again to Nick Stocker, Stijn Tolkamp, and Tien Procent Club for organizing and inviting us to speak, thank you to Giving Green and Doneer Effectief for their support – and thank you to everyone who came for their interest!
