Our team was busy yesterday November 7th, hosting two major events in Berlin’s political center. Upon completing the first-ever technical briefing in the German parliament – our format Coffee & Cleantech– we teamed up with Clara Pfeffer and Christian Herrmann from ntvNachrichten’s Klima-Labor to discuss the future of climate action in Germany. While Jens Spahn, deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group, had to cancel his participation at short notice due to the turmoil following the end of the German government coalition, his colleague Thomas Heilmann, member of the German parliament (Deutscher Bundestag) and energy expert stepped in. Mr. Heilmann and Prof. Marcel Fratzscher from the DIW Berlin – German Institute for Economic Research, discussed the current state of affairs in German energy policy.
Their discussion with Clara and Christian was followed by an intervention from our CEO Peter Schniering, providing an international perspective on the most relevant topics for a new German government, the design of a future German energy market, and the honest debate that needs to happen on how Germany can step up its efforts to compete in international markets again.
Listen to both the podcast recording and the intervention below!
Alongside the event, we were able to showcase our recent work on hydrogen, LDES, ThermalStorage, Aviation, and Cement with a gallery of our factsheets, reports, and other visuals provided in the studio and the hallways of RTL’s Capital Studio.
We would like to thank the entire team involved for making facilitating this great event!
