The European Electricity Market Design Reform must strategically plan for Long Duration Energy Storage and should aim to accelerate the transition to a sustainable and affordable energy system by boosting investment where it is most needed to achieve the EU’s Fit-for-55 and REPowerEU objectives. These objectives can only be achieved with the correct incorporation of Long Duration Energy Storage (LDES).
